Officer McFarland joined the force in 2003. She formerly worked as a police officer and EMT in Berks County.

She is certified through the American Heart Association in first aid, CPR and AED and is the department medical instructor. She has been a certified EMT since 2000.

Officer McFarland is also certified in commercial vehicle weights and measures and is one of the department’s bicycle officers.

Officer McFarland received a merit service award in 2006 from the Macungie Police Department after she was credited with saving the life of a 9 year old boy. She performed CPR on the boy after he had drown while swimming in Delaware. Officer McFarland was on vacation with family at the time of the incident.
