Officer Bernhard joined the force in 2003. He formerly worked as a Pennsylvania State Constable in Lehigh County and a police officer in the Northampton County area.

He is the department Crime Prevention Officer and patrol rifle armorer and has certification in commercial vehicle weights and measures, terrorism awareness and SFST practitioner.

Officer Bernhard is working with the community and has developed a tailored crime watch program for Macungie Borough.

 Officer Bernhard received a life saving commendation from the Macungie Police Department in 2006 after responding to a medical call where he performed CPR saving the victim’s life.
