To register with the Macungie Police Departments Nixle program simply text 18062 to 888777 from a mobile phone or visit www.nixle.com to register online. You will be instantly connected to the Nixle service. When a resident registers online at www.nixle.com they can modify how and when they wish to receive messages. Messages can be emailed or sent through text messaging. To cancel your subscription simply text STOP to 18062 and you are immediately removed from the distribution list.

Macungie Police Department will send notices such as, but not limited to, road closures, police activity and general information, snow emergencies, utility disruptions, major incidents in the area, public help requests for missing people or animals to name a few.

Swift 911

Nixle

We offer fingerprint services for residents who need to be fingerprinted for employment purposes. There is a fee for this service.

Macungie Borough uses a program called Swift911™. This is a notification program with the capability of delivering recorded warnings to the entire community, via telephone or TTY (teletypewriter) or text to the Borough or specific areas to notify citizens by phone of information regarding you or your property. The system can make thousands of calls in a minute to convey vital information which may include water emergencies, weather emergencies or for sharing important information.

It is important for residents and business owners to provide contact information such as unlisted, unpublished or cell phone numbers. Accurate numbers in the database help to ensure emergency information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner.

If you would like to provide an alternate number other than your home number you may also do so. The alternate phone number would be called if your primary phone number is not answered by a person or answering machine.

All calls you receive will have the caller ID of “Macungie Borough.” Your information will not be provided to any outside agencies or companies. Visit www.macungie.pa.us to sign up for this valuable notification service.
